Welcome to the ICOM Secretariat
and the UNESCO-ICOM Information Centre. ICOM
is an organisation for museums and museum
professionals. It is a well known international organisation and consequently
it receives many queries daily. We, of course, try to help as much as possible,
but due to our limited staff numbers, we cannot respond to all requests sent
to us by e-mail, fax or regular mail.
We therefore introduced some rules. ICOM will as a matter of priority answer all membership enquiries and all queries sent to us by any of our 15,000 members. With regard to the Information Centre, questions from ICOM members and UNESCO staff will of course also be handled in priority. All other queries will be considered with regard to the importance for our organisation and its aims and objectives. As a result it might well be possible that your query is not answered. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.
