The UNESCO Institute for Statistics is able to provide statistics on education, science, culture and communication. Publication: Statistical yearbook = Annuaire statistique.

The Institut für Museumskunde publishes visitor statistics in German museums in "Materialien für Museumskunde".
This institute has set up an international statistical committee which aims to collect museum statistic figures all over Europe (Contact: Monika Hagedorn-Saupe).

UNITED KINGDOM

The former Museums and Galleries Commission (now the Council for Museums, Archives and Libraries) maintains a statistical data base DOMUS (Digest of Museum Statistics) on museums in the United Kingdom. The results of the DOMUS surveys are published in "Museum Focus". This data base is available for consultation from the National Digital Archive of Datasets website (http://ndad.ulcc.ac.uk).

Museum annual reports.

Some museums publish their statistics in their annual reports. You may refer yourselves to them.

The Art Newspaper, the Journal des Arts and Il Giornale dell' Arte publish worldwide exhibition attendance reports in their pages.
